Hot, but it should be on juice and not air

$85 is what I would be willing to pay for that.

Definitely BaT to me. The car itself isn’t particularly collectible , besides being a convertible, plus it’s not built to my tastes so I’d end up ripping out the air bags and ridiculous speakers and selling the Daytons.

It is what happens when you find yourself somewhere that is on the take from “Big Rust” and also happens to be extremely land locked. Doubtful they get eighty five large, but I have to admire the chutzpah of taking it up to a value any boomer walking in the door can expect to be relieved of.

So much lovely about that car and so much dumb.

I was waiting for both shoes to come flying at my head after seeing the price. Other than stupid speaker related holes it looks to be not awful bodywise.

They got a lot of effect out of that first photo.
It should be affordable in this lifetime to the type of person who will keep it in that good of shape up here. Just garaging a vehicle is nowhere near enough to avoid rust and damage due to heat/cold swing up here. True isolation and climate control is not easily attainable.

I agree, very bittersweet.

I think he’s high, but I’m not sure he’s quite being a trailer high. The only 1960 Impala convertible I found for sale on the first search page had an asking price of $79,500. It was a restored example which would be worth more in my opinion. Depending on how well done the work on this car was he may not be crazy high though.
Personally I like the look, but I’d forgo getting a convertible and buy this example for $55,000 less.

The wheels would need to go, but I could swap them for a set of these and still save more than 50k

The build quality would have to be fantastic to even get close and that doesn’t look to be the case given that the trunk isn’t finished. To me it’s a $40k car on it’s best day.

Might seem like a bad take, but 535hp in that is a horrible idea.

There are a lot of things I like about this car. And a 60 Impala convertible can be worth $85k. But that would be a bone stock 348 car, not this one.
It’s a really nice car, but it sounds like someone is trying to get their “ investment” back. The trunk picture is a dead giveaway.
And FFS what trans is in it?

85k and the truck looks like car built by a high schooler in shop class. The paint looks pretty lack luster too. Nah.

535 HP in an X frame convertible with no safety features? What’s wrong with that?

“I do not need help selling”
Yeah, for that price you don’t need help, you need a miracle.
Another lesson in customs being a dangerous investment.

Firstly, those fender skirts are... interesting. Also, why would you put that much horsepower into a car only to give it those tires? Not to dis the tires, they look good on a lowrider, but they’re most definitely not meant for performance applications and lowriders aren’t known for their speed. Th is car makes no sense. I say pluck the motor out and put it in something that can use it, remove those questionable fender skirts, put an adequately powerful and more efficient engine in it, and go cruising.

A guy in my union has a green Impala like that and he spent a fortune on all that lowrider crap. Well it almost never works right and it broke his frame I think, he had to have it fixed.

The angle is probably similar to selling grandpa a 500 bhp BMW Luxobarge knowing it won’t ever hit posted speed on the freeway.

I’m less concerned about how the trunk looks than how it sounds with those subs mounted in a bare metal trunk. Probably couldn’t afford the square mile of dynamat to paper it.

You’re giving me strange ideas for a potential rockcrawler build.

Junk it.

More like park it for 6 months and come back to a pile of fancy air ride bits that are junk.

Lol that could be entertaining if you lifted it enough.
